Former All Blacks captain Anton Oliver is now embarking on a new journey as he is in the country helping Birdlife International Fiji to eradicate rats which harm seabird nests in the Ringgold Island in parts of Taveuni.

Oliver who is now enrolled at Oxford University doing a Masters in Science has been part of the NGO group which is working with the local people to help conserve important seabird nesting sites from rats.

The rat eradication project in the Ringgolds consisted of two aerial drops over seven islands.

Oliver said it has been an emotional experience.
