Officials in court for abuse of office
It is alleged that last year the two facilitated advance payment of over $1500 to Mataqali Tilivesewa without following the proper procedures.
It is also alleged that Vueti abused his authority by allowing the advanced payment to the Mataqali.
The two have been given time to seek the assistance of legal aid and their plea has been deferred.
The matter has been adjourned till 23rd November.
Meanwhile, a former accountant of Ba Provincial Holdings Limited has been charged with two counts of corrupt practices by FICAC and appeared in the Lautoka Magistrates Court this morning.
The magistrate was told that Ivan Singh had allegedly obtained $30,000 from a Rakesh Singh of Woodwork Fantastic, a company under contract to Ba Provincial Holdings.
Singh was allegedly paid for not distributing the contract between the Woodwork Fantastic and Ba Provincial Holdings.
Singh has been told to seek legal advice before a plea is taken and the matter is adjourned to November 23rd for mention.
