The Fiji Rugby Union Games Committee will meet later tonight to look into the on field incident that occurred in Naluwai over the weekend in the match between Naitasiri and Ovalau.

The FRU match officials in the Digicel Cup match between Naitasiri and Ovalau have defended their actions into what they claim as unjust statements made by Ovalau coach Luke Vulo about the incident where Ovalau players were allegedly assaulted on the field.

Speaking to Fijivillage sports, match Commissioner George Fonmoa said that the Ovalau players should take full responsibility for all that happened after sending provoking comments to the Naitasiri players during the game.

Fonmoa adds that the injuries incurred were unintentional as it was all part and parcel of the game and the ground conditions was also a major factor.

He concludes that they have already handed in their match report to the Games Committee of the Fiji Rugby Union who are expected to hand down a decision once a full report is obtained from both sides.
