The official opening of the new Fiji Football Association Headquarters and Regional Technical Center has been postponed.

The opening was scheduled for tomorrow however, in a statement, Fiji FA President, Rajesh Patel said Fiji FA has been given a directive by OFC in writing to postpone the official opening and they have no option but to abide by the decision.

The new Fiji FA Headquarters and Regional Technical Centre is part of the FIFA Goal Project II which will house the headquarters, training, accommodation and dining facilities.

Patel adds that media reports stating of a possible legal action against an OFC official who was likely to be present for the inauguration has seen the directive of the postponement given to Fiji FA.

Patel said a new date for the FIFA Goal II Project opening will be finalized once the matter was resolved.
