There is a fresh call made today from one of the amateur boxing top officials who is here with the Indigenous Aborigines team, that there is a need for officials and boxers to work together and help in the development of the sport.

Speaking to Village Sports, well known amateur boxing official Seru Whippy, who has been involved in the sport for the past 30 years, said that it is sad to see that amateur boxing has not reached new heights since he left the country.

Whippy said that one of the main reasons that he is back in the country with the touring Aborigines team, is to help the sport be recognised in the country.
