Some senior police officers from Labasa Police station are under investigation for alleged abuse of office and corruption.
Speaking to Fijivillage this afternoon Interim Finance Minister Mahendra Chaudhry confirms that his Ministry is carrying out the investigation following revelations that Police vehicles at the station are being repaired at a private garage at very high costs.
Chaudhry said it is not normal for Police vehicles to be repaired at a private garage.
The Senior Officers at the Labasa Police station are expected to be questioned by the Finance Ministry officials this week before any further steps are taken.
