Officers Take Stand At Malasebe Case
Rarasea who was the second state witness in the case of Tevita Malasebe's death, was cross examined by lawyer John Semisi and admitted in court, that he was called in to assist police officers in Valelevu after Malasebe has been evading police for sometime
Another state witness Constable Amani Bosenaiwai told the court that Malesebe was a well known criminal and for the safety of police officers, more manpower was needed for his arrest
Both witnesses told the court that the two vechicles that went with them to Newtown was parked outside the Valelevu Police Station after they came back from Newtown, and Copral Rarasea told the court that Police Constable Lole had told them that Malasebe has been arrested
The accused who are all police officers who pleaded not guilty to murder are Lole Vulaca, Waisale Boletawa, Maika Rauqera, Rusiate Kuruvusere, Jone Cama, Ero-nimo Susu-nikoro, Eramasi Naraga are charged with murder while Pita Matai is charged with accessory to murder.
