The Commissioner Western's Office today received much needed help from the Prime Minister's Office to help cart water to areas severely affected by the ongoing dry weather.
Commissioner Joeli Cawaki said water sources in many parts of the Western Division are drying up, and the funding will help them continue with the cartage of water which started two weeks ago.
Cawaki says of particular concern are areas in the rural areas which are outside of the Water Authority's supply grid.
The funding is part of the $1 million application put forward by the Provincial Development Ministry to the Prime Minister's Rehabilitation Fund last week.
