The OHS Department of the Labour Ministry has started their investigation this morning regarding the death of 37yr old Epeli Gadi last Thursday in Namoli, Lautoka.

Western Divisional Labour Officer Mateo Daurewa told Fijivillage News that all workers, crane operator and others involved in the incident are being interviewed. He said the investigation will continue throughout the week and probably next week before any conclusion is reached.

Daurewa said after investigations, the OHS department will determine the compensation claim to be paid to Gadi's immediate family.

A 10 metre concrete pole weighed 35 tonne fell on Gadi, killing him.

Meanwhile, OHS Department in Lautoka is also investigating the death of another worker at a manufacturing site in Lautoka last Monday.
