The OHS Department of the Labour Ministry is still taking statements from workers who were at the site in Namoli, Lautoka, where 37 year old Epeli Gadi died last Thursday after a concrete pole fell on him.

Western Divisional Labour Officer Mateo Daurewa said statements will also be taken from the owner of the company and a crane operator.

A 10 metre concrete pole weighing 35 tonnes fell on Gadi.

Daurewa said the investigation will continue until next week before any conclusion is reached.

Following this, the OHS Department will determine the compensation claim to be paid to Gadi's immediate family.

Meanwhile, the OHS Department in Lautoka is also investigating the death of another worker at a manufacturing site in Lautoka last Monday.
