The Oceania Football Confederation has stepped in to help Fiji Football Association secure the visas for their Under 12 team.

The New Zealand High Commission has refused to give the visa to the Fiji Under 12 team.

Fiji FA had planned to send the team one week earlier to New Zealand to get training at the OFC Academy and play a few build-up matches before flying to France for the Danone Cup soccer tournament.

Chief Executive Bob Kumar said OFC Secretary General Tai Nicholas has written a letter to New Zealand Foreign Affiars Minister Winston Peters, asking him to help the Fiji Under 12 side in getting the visas to travel to New Zealand.

Kumar said if the matter is not settled then Fiji Under 12 side may travel through Los Angeles to France. Fiji has for the first time qualified to play in the Danone Cup tournament after winning the Oceania qualifying tournament where they defeated New Zealand 2-1 in the final.
