OFC President David Chung has congratulated Fiji Football Association's newly elected President Rajesh Patel after his landslide victory during the association’s 74th Ordinary Congress in Suva last night.

Patel picked up 43 votes to defeat his closest rival Shailendra Prasad with 10 votes.

President Chung believed the Ba businessman will make a valuable contribution to the game.

Patel has served two terms as Fiji FA Vice President after being elected to the post in 2005.

Meanwhile at the Courts IDC, Navua beat Tavua in the first game this afternoon by 2 goals to nil.

Navua’s goals came from Praneel Kumar and Sailosi Livatalo.

Coming up at 6.30pm Ba faces Labasa, defending champion Rewa will take on Nadi at 7.45pm and at 9pm host Suva meets Lautoka.
