Wallabies winger, James O'Connor is today expected to regain his test wing starting spot and also take over the goal-kicking duties against Ireland on Saturday night.
The selectors Robbie Deans and David Nucifora have this week praised O'Connor's performance off the bench against Italy, where he made a major impact in the final 35 minutes.
Meanwhile, O'Connor was suspended for one match, missing the Tri Nations decider against the All Blacks in Brisbane.
The Wallabies will also not know for several days how long Digby Ioane will be sidelined.
But they are still extremely hopeful Ioane will be available for the finals series.
