Controversial Wallabies star James O’Connor believes he’s changing to ensure he is best known for what he does on the field.

The gifted utility back incurred some disciplinary blemishes and unwanted media headlines under former coach Robbie Deans and most recently being spotted at a burger bar at 4am in the week of the second Test against the British and Irish Lions last month.

O’Connor said he doesn’t play rugby to be talked about off the field but he is waiting if he will be selected by Ewen McKenzie against the All Blacks in Sydney.

When asked by ABC Sports about his position in the back line, O’Connor said he has the same approach for any position.
