The Oceania Football Confederation has made some major decisions in its executive meeting for the next few years.

It's been approved that the O-league format of eight teams will remain for the next two seasons.

It's also been agreed that the OFC qualifying format for the 2014 Fifa World Cup in Brazil will be held in two stages. Stage 1 will have 12 teams that will compete in the 2011 Pacific Games with the Gold, Silver and Bronze medalist teams advancing to the next round.

Stage 2 will then see the Gold, Silver and Bronze medal winners join New Zealand to play in the home and away competition, with the winner qualifying for the World Cup qualifying playoffs from the Oceania region.

OFC has also decided that Fiji, Tahiti and New Caledonia will be given the chance to host the OFC Futsal Championship and the OFC Under-17 championships in 2011.
