The Sangam School of Nursing in the North is hopeful that the Health Ministry will consider employing all its graduates in the civil service.
Acting Principal Sister Haemarie Taito said there were 61 graduates in May this year and four graduates migrated for greener pastures. She said more than 50 nurses will graduate in December.
Her comments come after Permanent Secretary for Health, Dr Lepani Waqatakirewa said that the Health Ministry is not facing any major nursing crisis in the country.
According to Dr. Lepani there are more nurses awaiting employment than positions available in the civil service to employ them.
