The statement by the Interim Finance Minister Mahendra Chaudhry that there will be no further pay cuts in the Civil Service this year is welcomed by the nurses of Fiji.
However, Fiji Nursing Association General Secretary Kuini Lutua said the Interim Ministers need to have dialogue so as not to confuse civil servants after Interim Minister for Public Service Poseci Bune said earlier that they were exploring another pay cut for civil servants this year after the High Court retained the retirement age at 60 years.
Meanwhile, Public employees Union General Secretary Pita Delan said civil servants around the country will be overjoyed at the prospect of not facing another pay cut.
