The Health Ministry is now assessing why a number of nurses did not turn up for their weekend shifts at the CWM and Nadi hospitals.
Doctor Jona Senilagakali said this is a clear breach of the directive of the Fiji Nursing Association that the striking nurses should be back at work by 7am last Saturday.
Doctor Senilagakali said appropriate action will be taken against the nurses concerned.
