A number of positions in the Vodafone Fiji 7s side for the Japan 7s will be up for grabs this weekend.
Coach Ben Ryan said one of these positions is in the forwards as Lepani Botia will not be part of the World Series after signing a contract with a French club.
Ryan added that losing Botia will be a big blow to the side but it's a good opportunity for another player to step up.
Ryan will announce a 16 member training squad for the Japan 7s this Saturday.
Fiji is pooled with Samoa, France and USA for the Japan 7s which is on the 22nd and 23rd of this month.
