A number of people who have made their submissions to the Constitutional Commission so far want the President to be elected by the people and the size of parliament to be reduced.

Some have also given their views on immunity and the role of the military.

A victim of the 2000 coup and former parliamentarian, Deo Narain said the coup culture in Fiji must stop.

While making his submission to the commission in Raiwaqa today, Narain said that the constitution is the supreme law of the country and it should not be abrogated by anyone.

He also suggested some coup deterrent strategies and the need for a national referendum.
