As Deputy Army Commander, Captain Esala Teleni takes over the Police Commissioner's post from today, Village News has received confirmation that a number of senior police officers are expected to be sent home soon.
Reliable sources have confirmed that the senior officers who have been under investigation in relation to certain allegations will be disciplined.
However it is not clear whether they will be terminated or suspended until the investigations are complete.
Some of the senior police officers who Legend FM News spoke to today said that they are aware that there is a plan to remove them from their positions. However no official directive has come from the Police Commissioner's office.
They say all they have heard is that the Acting Commissioner was terminated a few days ago.
