12 year olds Taniela Drose and Shelvin Nair said they are not afraid of the sea after one week of training at Nukulau Island.

The two boys were part of the 16 juveniles from the Boys Centre in Korovou, who are currently going through a Water Survival course to help them tackle life threatening situations, to instill discipline, promote teamwork on how to survive and save lives in the water and how to survive on a remote island.

Drose and Nair both said they have learnt a lot of things with the assistance of military officers, who are conducting the training.

The shy 12 year old Nair, who was brought up at St Christopher's Home said it is unfortunate that he does not know who his parents are but he hopes that the training he receives will help him in life.

Boys Centre Rupeni Fatiaki said they do have plans for the boys when they leave the Juvenile Centre.
