It has been confirmed that taxi drivers charging VAT inclusive fares should notify passengers with a VAT licensing notice on the dashboard.
Land Transport Authority spokesperson Ratu Eroni Volavola said if the drivers charge VAT and no notice is given, than passengers have the right to report them to the LTA.
Volavola adds that taxi drivers charging VAT start their meters at $1.50, than an increase of 30 cents and 11 cents thereafter for every flagfall.
