Nothing brings patriotism like rugby
The major supermarket and retail outlets in the capital have stocked up on Fiji flags as they expect bumper sales today and tomorrow and some of the floor managers of the larger outlets say they have already sold hundreds of flags.
And not only flags, all sorts of Fiji sevens merchandise is in demand as the owner of URO Fashion said they are running out of stock.
Fijivillage ran into a guy walking around the streets of the capital selling Fiji Flags who said he has sold over two hundred within a few hours.
Meanwhile, there are some mixed reactions from the rugby pundits on the streets of the capital after the Digicel Fiji 7's teams first outing at the Rugby World Cup this morning.
But everyone Fijivillage spoke to believed that the team can improve on its performance.
Fiji Island Council of Trade Unions General Secretary, Attar Singh said World Cup Sevens Rugby is one sport that unites the whole country and brings the Fiji to a standstill when our team is playing.
