Not enough effort has been made by those involved in the People's Charter process to provide regular updates to Fiji's bilateral and multilateral partners.

This was stated in a report from the International Monitoring Group on its findings following a week of discussions and consultations on the Charter process.

The three members appointed by the President, Chairman Geert Van Der Linden, Rev Caroline Amy Chambers and Robin Nair, state that the lack of effort by those involved in the People's Charter process, in providing regular updates to its overseas counterparts, has at times led to misunderstandings and misapprehensions that could have been avoided by more regular contact.

Also the three members state that there needs to be further examination on some of the concerns expressed, about the role of the military council in the process, the public support for the Charter and the international community’s view on the Charter process.
