The Commissioner Northern has recommended that schools in the Northern Division be opened on Monday.
Colonel Inia Seruiratu revealed that he has had a meeting with DISMAC Officials and put the recommendation forward as preliminary damage assessments reports are still being done.
Col. Seruiratu said that at the moment they have been able to clear out most of those schools being used as evacuation centres and expect to have everything ready for the students by next week.
An aerial survey of Cikobia Island has showed that the worst fears are over as according to the Commissioner Northern the island did not sustain as much damage as anticipated.
After returning from the survey, Commissioner Northern Colonel Inia Seruiratu said they could see damaged homes and uprooted trees and emergency supplies are now bound for the island.
