Northern Airlines unveiled its new aircraft yesterday taking its fleet to two planes which should now ease the demand for services provided by Pacific Sun for flights between Viti Levu and Vanua Levu and to the outer islands.

Northern Airlines, which started by providing chartered services in 2008, has now been permitted to provide services on routes held by Pacific Sun.

From June 1st, Northern Airlines will start daily services to Savusavu and Taveuni and it has also been confirmed that the Company has purchased a third aircraft which is expected to arrive in the next two months and this will service the Labasa and Nadi route.

Northern Airlines General Manager Selwyn Douglas says acquiring the new plane is part of their expansion plans as they are working with stakeholders in the industry to ensure consistent and reliable air services to the Northern Division.
