The Health Ministry has confirmed the first three cases of Pandemic Influenza H1N1 2009 for the Northern Division.

Spokesperson Iliesa Tora said these three cases include two male and one female, and one of these three was seen at the Labasa Hospital in mid July, but was not tested earlier, because of the shortage of the required lab consumables, however he confirmed that the three are now recovering.

He also said that there has been no serious cases which indicates that people took preventative measures and took the advice from the Ministry seriously.

He added that all the 100 confirmed cases that were tested at Mataika house have recovered.
