Discarded Hurricanes players Ma'a Nonu and Andrew Hore both say they would have liked to have had another year with the Super Rugby franchise.

Both have been told by coach Mark Hammett that they would not be offered contracts for next year.

Nonu and Hore say they are disappointed to be forced out, with the franchise captain Hore saying he would have liked to have been able to make his own decision about his future.

Hore said that caught him off guard as he still thinks he's got something to offer, although it might have to be somewhere else.

Nonu did not comment on his future but has been linked with a move to Japan or the Chiefs.

In this week’s competition, the Hurricanes meet the Chiefs at 7:35pm on Friday and at 9:40pm the Brumbies take on the Rebels.
