The General Secretary of Fiji Teachers Union is calling on the Education Ministry to act swiftly to resolve the problem at the Nasavusavu Secondary School in Savusavu which has been closed due to an internal dispute.
The School Management closed the school until further notice as it wants the Acting Principal removed from the school.
Agni Deo Singh said that problems do arise in schools however nobody is allowed to close the school apart from the Ministry.
The Chairman of the School Board and the Manager, Ratu Viliame Ralulu said the school management's grievance to remove the Acting Principal and to have a replacement in the 3rd term has not been addressed by the Education Ministry.
He said the current Acting Principal is not the right person to be in the position and his conduct during the 2nd term has proved it which is why they had requested the Ministry to remove him for the betterment of the students.
The Education Ministry is awaiting a report from its officers in the North before commenting on the matter.
