There is still no confirmation on who will get the captaincy role in the Flying Fijians 15s rugby team to play Japan in the opening Pacific Nations Cup match on Saturday.

Manager Semi Rogoyawa has confirmed that they still waiting on the arrival of overseas based reps Sisa Koyamaibole and Napolioni Nalaga before they make a decision.

Last Saturday's test match captain Deacon Manu and his assistant Sireli Bobo are both unavailable to play this weekend.

The Fiji team will miss the services of senior players like Jone Qovu, Rupeni Caucau, Wise Luveniyali and Dan Rawaqa with most of the squad members having their first taste of top level rugby last week.

Fiji Warriors captain Dale Tonawai who has been brought in this week is one of the strong contenders to lead Fiji as he is one of the most experienced players in the squad.

Other senior players in the team are Graham Dewes, Timoci Nagusa and Alefoso Yalayalatabua.

The Fiji team will be named on Thursday and Saturday's game against Japan at Churchill Park kicks off at 3pm and you can catch a live commentary on our sister station Viti FM.
