As we enter day two of the nurses strike, there is no word from the interim government and Fiji Nursing Association on whether any talks will be initiated today.
The employer of the nurses, Public Service Commission remains firm that it will ensure that essential health services will continue to be provided.
Permanent Secretary for Public Service, Taina Tagicakibau said they will ensure that the FNA's objective to cripple the health system does not succeed.
Tagicakibau said they are also looking at redeploying people at hospitals.
She said further details of their plans will be known soon.
