Two schools in the Tacirua area have been forced to send the students home early today as there is no water supply at the schools.

Officials from Newtown Christian Primary School and Tacirua Primary School confirmed that they are now sending the children home as there is no water supply.

The officials said if the situation does not improve then they will have to decide tomorrow morning on whether they will have classes tomorrow.

Water Authority of Fiji spokesperson Maika Nagalu said engineers have been sent to the area to ascertain the cause of the water cuts.

Meanwhile, Nagalu also confirmed that there is a burst main near the women's prison in Korovou and water supply to the Walu Bay industrial area will be disrupted from this hour until engineers complete repair works.
