There will be no vote buying exercises in the rural areas because it is not needed and the government is not a political party to look at the interests of only certain sections of the community.

Those are the words of Prime Minister, Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama as he continues his visits to the rural areas.

Bainimarama said as he visits the various provinces and districts, he is ensuring that people are changing their mindset on government handouts.

He said the handouts over the years have made the people totally reliant on the government and this mentality needs to change.
