Despite saying that some players could be cut from the Fiji 7s Olympic squad this weekend, coach Ben Ryan has opted to continue with the current 22 member squad until the final team announcement next week.
Ryan said there was no valid reason to cut some of the players from the 7s Olympic camp.
He said the plan is coming together well and the intensity, pace and workload on the players is building week by week.
Ryan said he would leave the selection to the last minute to give him as much clarity as possible.
Ryan said naming a team right now would be very difficult because there are about 15 players who have been impressive based on their current performance.
He said Fiji's final team will be selected on form alone and some hard decisions will need to be made.
Ryan said they are number one based on form and on merit and will go into the Olympic Games in the first sevens competition ever as number one seeds and favourites.
He added that they are not hiding away from that fact that Fiji is the best team on the planet.
President of the Fiji Rugby Union, Voreqe Bainimarama will name the 13-member Vodafone Fiji 7s team to the Rio Olympics next Friday.
