There is no vaccine to treat Dengue Fever and thus the need to be more prepared for any Dengue outbreaks.
That is the stand the Health Ministry and the World Health Organization are now taking to address the issue of Dengue outbreak in the country.
Health Ministry Permanent Secretary, Doctor Salanieta Saketa said that with the over 300 cases recorded so far in the country, we need to be prepared.
In 2008 Fiji recorded 1,895 Dengue cases with over 300 cases last year. However, WHO has projected that the incidence rate for Dengue Fever cases in Fiji is 200 reported cases for every 100,000 persons in the country.
