The Digicel Fiji 7s team has not been given the top seeding at the Scotland 7s next month despite being the defending champions.

IRB has drawn the Pools for the Scotland 7s tournament based on results from the last two tournaments in Australia and Hong Kong.

Samoa is the top seeded team in the 16-team tournament at Murrayfield with New Zealand, Australia and the USA also heading a pool.

Fiji is drawn into Pool D which is headed by USA. They also have Wales and host Scotland in their pool.

Samoa is in Pool A with Argentina, Kenya and France while Pool B sees New Zealand, South Africa, Russia and Italy and Pool C has Australia, England, Canada and Portugal.

Samoa is currently leading the IRB World 7s Series standings with 124 points while New Zealand lies in second place with 121 points and Fiji is in third with 94 points.

Scotland 7s will be the last tournament in the IRB 7s Series that will be played on 29th and 30th of May while the England 7s tournament will be held a week earlier on the 22nd and 23rd of May.
