No timeline given for full power restoration
National Disaster Centre Acting Director Pajiliai Dobui said that they have been briefed by FEA and according to their engineers full power restoration may take the whole month as FEA engineers have a large ground to cover.
At the moment, power has been restored to majority of Viti Levu central business districts and hospitals as well as pumping stations however some households in rural and semi-urban areas, may be without power supply because the connection from their homes to the main power line is faulty.
For the West, Lautoka, Ba, Nadi, Rakiraki, Tavua and Sigatoka the town and nearby areas already have their power supply back but FEA is now working on areas outside town to restore power supply.
Most parts of Nadi have their power restored while FEA is working to restore power on villages in the interior of Nadi.
