The farmers on the island of Vanuavatu have raised concerns to the Commissioner Eastern, Colonel Ifereimi Vasu that their plantations were badly damaged after Cyclone Tomas, and since then, the Agriculture Ministry has never supplied them with any seeds.
Turaga Ni Koro, Joji Mate said that it has been hard for the farmers as the island is an atoll island where only "kawai" and "kumala" grow well.
Meanwhile, Principal Agriculture Officer, Director Extension, Uraia Waibuta said they are doing all that they can to assist the farmers in Vanuavatu.
The President, Ratu Epeli Nailatikau and his entourage will be in Moce and Kabara today.
