Ousted Prime Minister, Laisenia Qarase said there is no satisfactory justification that can come from Interim Prime Minister, Commodore Frank Bainimarama for the takeover on December 5th, 2006.
Qarase said a lot has been said about corruption but the interim administration will not find anything to charge him with corrupt practices.
However Commodore Frank Bainimarama said to Village today that the events of December 5th occurred due to increasing racist policies by the Qarase government which was fuelling racial hatred.
Following Qarase's comments that corruption was not the main reason for the overthrow of his government, Commodore Bainimarama said apart from corruption, one of their main concerns was the incitement of racial hatred and divisive policies which started to increase after last year's elections.
