Military Officers will not receive any salary increase as recommended in the Job Evaluation Report.

Deputy Secretary for Information Major Neumi Leweni said while military officers will not receive an increase, the rest of the civil service will receive the salary increase as approved by Cabinet in December 2008, and as announced by the Public Service.

Earlier Major Leweni had said that the Interim Government will not be implementing the Job Evaluation Report due to the financial status of the government, adding that the time was not right.

Cabinet had approved the implementation of the JER for the General Civil Service on the 1 percent increase per year for 5 years for classifications of SS02, or equivalent and above to compromise the first three phases of 3 percent on the first implementation and to be effective from the 1st of last month and the next 2 phase of 2 percent to be effective from the 1st of Jan, 2010.
