There were no fatalities on our roads for the month of April.
Police records show that there has not been a fatality free month on our roads since before 2003.
Newly appointed Police Director Traffic Mahesh Mishra revealed this at a press conference this morning.
Mishra, while thanking all drivers, stressed that people must realize that their lives are in their own hands.
However, there are over 2,286 drivers who were booked for speeding in April and over 3000 booked for speeding in the first quarter of this year.
Police records also show that there were a total of 3,189 bookings for minor accidents, defects and traffic infringements which is also a decrease of around 42% from the same period last year.
