As the second political forum continues at the parliament complex, the interim Prime Minister has made it clear that it will not let any political party push policies based on race.
Commodore Frank Bainimarama told us earlier that the SDL party and former Prime Minister Laisenia Qarase should be mindful of this.
The Forum of Political parties got underway this morning at the parliamentary complex in Suva with 31 representatives from the 18 political parties in attendance.
The meeting got underway with an opening statement from Bainimarama after which a representative from each party was given a chance to make a brief remark. The media was told to leave the meeting room after Bainimarama came in to make his statement.
Officials said the decision was made by the higher authorities.
The forum is aimed at coming to a consensus on the Agenda for the proposed Presidents Political dialogue forum and the political parties will also discuss the letter from the UN and Commonwealth.
The meeting ends at around 4 o'clock this afternoon.
Meanwhile, a notable absentee from the forum today is Fiji Labour Party Leader Mahendra Chaudhry as the FLP is represented by Lekh Ram Vayeshnoi and Tom Ricketts.
