The Prime Minister of New Zealand Helen Clark said the breach of Internationally recognised rights of a New Zealand citizen has put to an end to any sanctions been lifted.

It has been alleged that New Zealander Ballu Khan was refused New Zealand Consular support after his arrest and Khan is alleged to have been beaten by the Military. Clark said the incident has now put an end to any prospect of New Zealand lifting sanctions against Fiji.

Meanwhile, Ballu Khan's nephew dismissed claims that his uncle is in any way involved in a plot to assassinate Interim Prime Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama.

Nik Naidu told Pacific Radio that these claims are ridiculous and claims that police and military have some other ulterior motives.
