The Fiji Police Force has today clarified that companies and organizations having Christmas parties and functions do not need a permit if they are having the function within their compound or a private place.
Director of Operations, Rusiate Tudravu said the Public Emergency Regulation which is still in force is for people to get permits if three or more people are holding activities in a public place.
Tudravu also said people singing Christmas carols do not need to apply for a permit.
