Fiji Airways Managing Director and CEO, Stefan Pichler said there is no need to engage too many consultants with the airline company as there are many capable locals who can do the job.

Pichler removed a number of consultants when he started at Fiji Airways.

When asked a question on consultants by Fijivillage,

Pichler started off with a joke but then said that he will keep a close watch as a Fiji Airways board director after February 2015 to ensure that the previous trend does not come back.

Pichler also said the airline’s five year strategic plan which includes the pilots progression plan will definitely continue.

This is part of the localisation plan for Fiji Airways.

Pichler will now assist Fiji Airways to identify a new Managing Director and CEO for the airline before leaves to take up the top post at Air Berlin.
