No immediate action will be taken by the Fiji Boxing Commission to address why there was a last minute cancellation in the heavyweight title boxing clash last Saturday.

The fight between current champion Petero Qica Jr and Napoleon Taumoepeau in the Wild West Boxing Promotions program was cancelled one hour prior to the fight.

About 2,500 people turned up to witness the fight and are demanding for a refund as they paid $25 for the ringside seat and $15 for the pavilion.

Acting Director of the Boxing Commission Malakai Veisamasama said they are now awaiting reports from all stakeholders who were involved in the boxing program last Saturday.

Current heavyweight champion Petero Qica pulled a hamstring before the fight and called for a cancellation.

Qica is willing to fight Taumoepeau in April next year.

Meanwhile, Taumoepeau said he was frustrated with the way Qica responded and said he does not deserve to be called Fiji’s heavyweight champion.

Qica defeated Mosese Kavika in 2011 to win the Fiji heavyweight title.
