The no false start rule is a good training ground for local athletes.
That is the sentiment of Marist Brothers High School sprint king Banuve Tabakaucoro as he prepares for the big showdown this Friday.
Tabakaucoro was disqualified during last year’s blue ribbon final and is now looking at winning the 100 metres final and breaking the record set by Viliame Nasuku in 1993.
The Red Fire team captain who is the favorite to win this year’s 100m final said we will have to wait and see who comes out victorious.
Chief Organiser Vuli Waqa this afternoon reminded the athletes that there should be no stomping in the grandstand at the TFL National Stadium.
He added any spectator breaking this rule will be asked to leave from the grandstand.
The 2011 Coca Cola Games starts on Friday at the TFL National Stadium at 8am.
