There will not be any elections this year for the top positions of the Methodist Church of Fiji.

The positions include the President of the Church, General Secretary and his deputy. According to the Assistant General Secretary, Reverend Tevita Nawadra the election of the top positions was done last year.

The current President, Reverend Ame Tugawe was elected last year for a three year term.

Rev Nawadra hopes with the proposed Standing Committee meeting tomorrow these elections issues will also be discussed.

Meanwhile, the Methodist Church said they will apply for a permit to have this meeting tomorrow.

Meanwhile, More than eleven thousand members of the Methodist Church Suva Circuit will crowd the Centenary Church next Saturday at the opening of the annual conference.

Assistant general secretary Reverend Tevita Nawadra said with the additional numbers from overseas, the church will not fit everyone.

However, Reverend Nawadra is confident that their visitors from the United States and Australia will enjoy a wonderful fellowship in Fiji.
