The Transport Ministry is still deliberating on the proposals from Fiji Taxi Union and Fiji Bus Operators Association for a fare increase.
Ministry spokesperson Sainiana Waqainabete said a decision has not been reached as yet and they will need some more time to study the proposal.
She added the ordinary people are the ones who will get affected by any fare increase and it’s important that serious thinking is put before any decision is reached.
The Fiji Taxi Union and Bus Operators Association have applied for a fare increasing following the fuel price hike last month.
